Our Story
Amy and Johnny met while studying abroad in Cambridge, UK for their Masters. They traveled together to places like Wales, Scotland, and Croatia. They officially began dating July 5th, 2012. Their first date was at D’Arry’s Cookhouse and Wine Shop in Cambridge. Their second date was at the Wimbledon Championships in London.
Afterwards, Johnny went on to start a Ph.D. at Harvard in Cambridge, MA while Amy moved to NYC to work in tech. They spent many weekends taking Fung Wah and Lucky Star buses back and forth between Boston South Station and Chinatown, NYC.
After a year, they moved in together to be resident tutors at Cabot House, Harvard where they lived for four years. Amy began her Ph.D. at MIT in 2014.
Today, they live together in Central Square in Cambridge, MA.
Our Engagement
Amy and Johnny got engaged in the Maldives on November 18, 2016.
Johnny surprised Amy with a sunset dinner on the beach after a day of exploring different islands by boat.
After excusing himself to the bathroom during dinner, Johnny instead got on one knee to propose. He managed to pop the question but before she could respond, a waiter interrupted and asked to take a photo. Amy proceeded to say “yes” to the waiter for the photo. Immediately, Johnny began trying to put the ring on her index finger. Eventually things calmed down, and Johnny and Amy were engaged!
Wedding Venue
Our wedding will take place at the beautiful Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, MA. Tower Hill is home to the Worcester County Horticultural Society, the 3rd oldest active horticultural society in the U.S.
Tower Hill contains 17 distinct gardens on 171 acres, much of it preserved as woodland and open space.
We encourage you to come early and explore the gardens, particularly the Moss Steps, the Wildlife Refuge Pond, and the Systematic Garden.

If you’re looking to spend part of your trip in the Boston area before or after the wedding, we also have a block of rooms in Cambridge. We suggest you do not stay here or elsewhere near Boston the night of the wedding given the distance from Tower Hill.
Travel
Tower Hill Botanic Garden

Tower Hill is about 50 minutes driving west of Boston, MA and about 15 minutes driving from the AC Hotel.
We will be providing a shuttle leaving from the AC Hotel to the wedding venue at 5:15PM. There will also be two shuttles leaving from the wedding venue to the AC Hotel at the conclusion of the evening, at 10:45PM and 11:30PM respectively.
